Cambridge is one of the top places in the county to find a job; we’re the most likely to cycle to work; we’re innovative with more patents per head than anywhere else; and we’re also up there on ‘quality of life’ league tables. So what are employers here doing to enhance employee wellbeing whilst maintaining such a productive workplace?
We have teamed up with COEL Office Furniture and Cambridge Plant Interiors to conduct some important empirical research which will hopefully provide a clearer understanding around the impact of the working environment on people’s wellbeing. Our research looks at the ‘hygiene factors’ in the design of the physical work environment as well as the ‘motivating factors’ in an organisation’s culture that help to build and maintain wellbeing. They explore whether there is a fine line between flexible working and an ‘always on’ culture where people are still working on their beach holiday. They also look practically at what employers can do when workspace comes under pressure – those comfy sofas getting replaced by much needed desks or moving to a hot-desking environment. They will also share some tips on how we can ensure our own wellbeing at work.
This session is aimed at HR, Finance, Facilities and other managers responsible for people’s wellbeing.
