Research: Mapping Social Networks in Organisations

Back in the early 2000s, I conducted thought leading research for The Work Foundation around social network mapping in organisations to reveal the informal relationships—trust, influence, collaboration—that shape how work really gets done, beyond the org chart. I created case studies of how mapping these networks helps leaders identify hidden bottlenecks, key connectors, and cultural fault lines, enabling more targeted and humane interventions. I’ve been using this relational mapping method since then.
